Creating Space for Women in the AI-Driven World of Work

Artificial intelligence is transforming work processes, qualification profiles, and occupational roles. At the same time, significant gender inequalities persist in the field of AI: women are underrepresented in AI-related professions, education pathways, and continuing training opportunities, while existing curricula still insufficiently address the requirements of a gender-inclusive, labour-market-oriented AI education.

AI4HER addresses this challenge at a structural level within vocational education and training (VET). The project develops a gender-inclusive AI curriculum for selected VET sectors, aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and consistently oriented towards labour market needs. Through blended learning and scenario-based learning in an AI Lab, AI applications are made clear in practice, enabling the development of the competences needed for professional use.

In this way, AI4HER not only strengthens the employability of women in AI-relevant occupational fields but also supports VET providers in integrating artificial intelligence into their programmes in an innovative, inclusive, and future-oriented manner – ensuring equal opportunities by training people with the qualifications that enable both individuals and companies to grow.

About AI4HER: Project information

Project Activities

During the project period from 11/2025 to 10/2027, we work together with our project partners on the following activities:

Development of a gender-inclusive AI curriculum for vocational education and training, aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)
Implementation of learning content through a blended learning approach (face-to-face and online learning)
Development of scenario-based learning modules in an AI Lab for the practical testing of AI applications
Promotion of modern, innovative teaching and learning methods in vocational education and training
Balanced integration of AI competences into vocational education and training

Target Group

AI4HER primarily addresses women, trainers, and educational staff in vocational education and training, as well as VET providers aiming to integrate AI competences and gender-inclusive approaches. Secondarily, the project targets relevant labour market stakeholders with a focus on diversity and innovation.

Project Objectives

AI4HER aims to reduce gender inequalities in the field of artificial intelligence and to strengthen the employability of women in future-oriented occupational fields. Through the integration of AI into vocational education and training in a gender-inclusive way, labour-market-relevant competences are systematically developed, while innovative and practice-oriented teaching and learning formats are promoted. At the same time, the project contributes to the Erasmus+ priorities of innovation, labour market relevance, and diversity.
